Time required to schedule interview

Hi folks-

I have a question- my fiancee sent her interview request to the embassy in Kiev last Monday--as of now, neither of us has heard anything back.

Any idea how long it takes to confirm a date? She e-mailed it in, and included both her and my e-mail address.

hmm, I dont know how it works in Kiev, but in germany you mail in the date for the interview with the last documents. After they got it it usually takes a while till they answer you. In my case it took about 2 months I think but my leavingdate was further in the future. Maybe it helps, when your fiancee waits for another week and then just calls them. In Frankfurt (germany) you can call the consulate and they usually can tell you when the interview is, as soon as they know!

Kiev is usually fairly quick since they say they are scheduling interviews about 3 weeks out. E-mail them and ask.

Not sure what is up with Kiev, but my fiancee and I had her interview scheduled for FEB 21, then she got email this evening from KIEV EMBASSY saying they had to move her to March 13th due to unforseen circumstances and apologized for any inconvience, we had scanned in and emailed them KEV1 checklist Jan 30, so who knows. I know they also changed things for I130f people on Jan 23 and really caused a stir for those poor people. Not sure what to tell you, they should have emailed her back with reply by now, we got reply back within 1-3 days on first appointment scheduled, I can say this, I will never be so glad to get this over with, it is a total paperchase and waste of valuable time for USA citizen.

Ok, I think I found the problem.

I asked her to re-send the docs to the embassy and copy me as well. The docs cme through compressed as a .rar file.

I guess when she scanned them in, the file was too big for her mailbox. I am assuming the e-mail filters at the embasy kicked the message out, so they never recieved her docs.

I asked her to try to save the scans in another format, or at a lower resolution, and send again.
