Let me say this , I received NOA on 4/20 in the mail with priority date of 4/13. Others who applied around same time or received NOA around same time already have Biometrics notice around 1st week of May.

Just a thought, as i run a forum as well. Pardon me if it has been suggested before and not adopted.

Concerning the applicant progress tracking information posted in the monthly threads. Won't it be more organized if a "spoiler" or similar tool

is used when posting them? This way, they do not take up all the space, and make for a cleaner thread. Users can simply click to reveal them.

The huge tables are not bad. Sometimes there are 3 or 4 in a row on one page. Scrolling past them is the only exercise my index finger gets all day.

I particularly like how some people can't even add their own updates and poor KASH2011 has to come to the rescue.

Please, we need more and bigger tables, not less.

Is it true that the applicants who file up to 90 days before completing the 5 year anniversary of GC are not scheduled for interview till they actually complete the 5 years?

There's no such USCIS rule.

The only rule regarding timing is that you can't take the oath of citizenship before completing 5 years (or 3 years).

However, some field offices have office rules that don't allow this. For example, the Houston office will try to avoid scheduling an applicant for an interview before completion of the 5 years. If an applicant is scheduled for an interview before his anniversary, they will decline to interview him on that day and will reschedule him for a later time (in most cases they will ask him to wait and will give him a new appointment letter). To be honest, I've only heard about this happening in Houston, but it probably happens elsewhere too (but not everywhere).

This was a problem when people were being naturalized in 3 or 4 months (I've read about 4 or 5 such cases in Houston), but most offices have slowed down (Houston takes well over 6 months now) so there's little chance of being scheduled before your anniversary at most offices.

When you receive your second letter for fingerprinting after the Notice Of Action, does your case update online? I was just wondering in case my fingerprinting letter got lost in the mail by any chance. Or will your case still say the date of your Notice of Action as the last step in the process?

day 43-- 05/23/2012-- Notice for an interview is received for 06/26 @ 2pm

day 63-- 06/12/2012-- Received a Text & email for an update- Card production EAD/AP

day 77-- 06/26/2012-- interview / approved on the spot.

day 86-- 07/05/2012-- Received my GC in the mail.

day 1 -- 04/07/2014 -- ROC Package delivered to VSC

day 16 -- 04/23/2014 -- Walk-in Bio.

day 197 -- 10/20/2014-- Approval Letter received dated 10/16/2014

I have the same questions. Called USCIS but go the standard reply. You are within 30 day period.... check on May 15th.

So what if I miss the Biometric appointment becuase I never recived the notice... same answer....wait 30 days.
