I have been searching for an answer to my specific question but I cannot find a similar circumstance. If anyone can help me with this, if they have a similar experience, I'd appreciate them sharing.

I am the USC petitioning for my husband. We had to file at the I-130 at the Chicago Lockbox because Santiago, Chile doesn't do DCF anymore :(

Since all of my income is foreign-earned, I cannot include any income on my I-864, as my husband and I do not have enough assets to cover the 3xpoverty level specified for our case.

My parents have agreed to be joint sponsors. I "live" in Chile, but for terms of domicile, my "place of residence" on the I-864 is my parents address in the USA, as I still have all correspondence arriving there, still have my bank account statements going there, etc.

So, my question would be that if I am submitting my I-864 with my "place of residence" as the same address as my parents address, would they fill out the I-864a (for each one of them) being at the same "place of residence", or would it be more appropriate for my father to fill out his own I-864 and my mom attach an I-864a to his I-864?

And, if in the case that he should fill out an I-864, he would include himself, my husband (intending immigrant) and his wife in his household size. And I would fill out myself and my husband (intending immigrant) in my household size?

If anyone has any insight to these questions, it would save me the trouble from a visit to the embassy to ask them directly...though I may have to end up doing so anyways.

I was in a similar situation recently.

I filed DCF in Manila and as I live in the Philippines, my income as a physician can't count towards the income requirements. So I also used my parents as joint sponsors and for purposes of domicle, I also used my parent's address.

I filled out an I-864 personally. But as a joint sponsor, my father filled out an I-864 of his own. The dependent size was just two, him and my mother. My mom filled out an I-864a since they file jointly with the IRS and the dependent size listed on the 1040 is just my mother.

I can't remember but I filled out the I-864 in a similar way. Personal I-864 listed 2 (me & the wife) and father's I-864 listed 3 (dad, mom, wife as intending immigrant). Come interview time, we had no questions or problems with the forms filled out this way. (Again since you filed via lockbox, you'll have to send the I-864s to NVC, we just had to bring them interview day) Wife now has visa in hand.

I don't pretend to hijack this post. So manilaraf, can I send you a private message asking you about: "My mom filled out an I-864a since they file jointly with the IRS" ?

Regards.
