I was all ready to submit my I-129F package and just relaized that I am using form G-325 and not G-325a. the G#25 is a 2 page form as compared to the 4 page version of G-325a. The information is the same. Is it okay to use the G-325 or should I ask my fiancee to sign and forward the G-325a? I am just afraid that I keep pushing the waiting time as I will have to wait a bit to get the forms back from her? What does the VJ community advise?

I would advise using the G-325a. If you do submit the G-325, I would still advise you to get the G-325a in case you get an RFE for submitting the G-325.

Submit the forms that are required. Not even sure why there is even a question. No need to introduce a problem into the process.

Many people think the 4 pages of the G325a are the same, and they are not. If you look at the very bottom left hand corner there is a designation as to where that page will be forwarded. Send in just the G325 and you are guaranteed an RFE/Delay.

Thank you all. Yes, I should submit the G325A. I was looking at the USCIS website and found the attached document which basically says if the G325A is not signed or photographs not submitted, an RFE should not be issued, rather can be collected/signed at the time of visa issuance. Based on this guideline, would it be prudent if I was to fill in the form on my fiancees behalf and then submit it without the signatures which can be done later? What do you advise? I guess I am trying to get my packet as fast as possible to USCIS but do not want to encounter any problems or delays.

Good catch on the G325A memo regarding signatures and photos. I overnighted the docs for my fiancee to sign and then she expressed them back to me. Cost me about 2 weeks and over a $100. Darn!

Where did you find the memo? It should be broadcast in VJ and in the sample forms.

Its on the USCIS website. Here's the link:

But I'm still a little apprehensive and wanted to know if any other VJ members have been through such a situation.

Nimble, I'd get the documents signed. You cannot be in so much of a rush that you don't have the time. Not all the USCIS officers have read the passage. You can complete the docs now or complete them when you get the RFE. If you do get an RFE, just show them that passage about the signatures! Nimble, it is so much easier and much less worrisome just to do it right the first time. There are few short cuts in this process. So dot the "i"s and cross the "t"s and submit a complete petition. It's your choice.
