HI ,

I got my approval on March 16th. Then Usually you have to wait for few weeks from NVC to send you the letter to start the process. I would like to know what is the best way to get the Invoice ID and Case # from NVC fast rather wait for several weeks .

Any suggestions will be helpful

thanks

Call them between 7:00am and midnight (Eastern time) on 603-334-0700. Speak to an operator and ask if your case has been received and physically created there. I did that and they handed over my case number and invoice ID right there on the phone.

I would call them about 3-4 weeks after your case was sent from USCIS. I received my I-130 approval on Feb 12th and it didnt reach the NVC system until March 6th. I had called on March 11th. Be prepared to be on hold for at least 30-45 minutes. If you get the message saying all ines are busy, keeping trying again and again. I found that its better to call either when they first open or later at night. Once they give you your case number and invoice number, you will be able to pay your first set of fees thru ceac.state.gov as well as assign an 'agent' for your case (DS-261). I also submitted my I-864EZ and Supporting/Civil documents the following week (i had called the NVC yet again to see why my fee didnt show 'paid' even though the monies were already debited from my account, and the woman on the phone told me that I could go ahead and submit our AOS/Financial Docs & IV Package). I'm not sure if it depends on where you're filing. But ask the question when you get a hold of a real person. It'll speed up your process by a month or so!

You're half way thru this entire process!! :)

oops sorry i forgot to mention, you'll need to wait until you receive the cover sheet/letter from the NVC to submit your AOS/IV Package (since you'll need to that coversheet to determine what needs to be included in the packet). I would start collecting all the proper documents you'll need now. You can see which apply to your case at http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents.html
