interview --- question

My husband's interview is on the 21st in Montreal. We have been reviewing people's stories and some people had problems with their bags etc at the consulate and they had to leave them behind. Now, my husband has already prepared and compiled all his documents in a big binder which has all the documents inside plastic proctected sheets and can be closed by a zipper. The question is, is it ok that he takes that kind of a binder or should he go with an accordian binder? We don't want to take any risks. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Thanks,

Kiny

I have no clue how it works in Montreal but everytime I have been to a US embassy/consulate which that would be Hamburg, Frankfurt, and Bucharest its pretty simple. Think of it as getting onto a plane but a little simpler . . . maybe even pre 9/11 standards so dont take any knives guns, plastic explosives or anything of the like . . . oh yeah and no cell phones for sure and I would bet probably no cameras. Its my experience that if you have something that they dont like then they will simply take it at the entrance and then you can get it back when you depart so dont fret.

Another thing I have noticed is dont take big packages like anything LARGER than a BIG purse (unless of course it has stuff that you wll use at the embassy), because the guards often dont have space to hold large items.

I am now preparing the documents for my wife's interview even though it is probably 6 months away.

I have created a very thin document holder with transparent legal size pages to hold documents - each page will be labeled.

I plan on buying an accordian document holder and create a small "filing cabinet" from it with various sections such as

original documents, supporting documents, copies of I-130, etc. That way, it will be easier for my spouse to find things.

My husband's interview is on the 21st in Montreal. We have been reviewing people's stories and some people had problems with their bags etc at the consulate and they had to leave them behind.
