Approved and then AP (still waiting but confused) HELP PLZ

Hi everyone.

My husband had his interview, they approved the visa, and then gave us the date to pick up his passport w/ visa inside. We went the day we were told, and when we arrived we were told that my husbands visa is in administrative processing and that was all of the information that they could give us at the time.

It has been two weeks. We haven't herd anything and according to a lot that I have read is extremely normal. However, the next day after we were told my husbands case was in AP they decided to call him and tell him again that he was in AP. It shows on the CEAC website that they updated the case the day they called him, however, it still says READY.

So last week on March 3rd I emailed for an inquiry to my Senator. It shows that the case was again updated on March 4th, but again it still says READY.

My senator never emailed me back, the consulate doesn't answer the phone, so today I decided to email the consulate. Again the status on CEAC updated to March 11th, but still says READY.

1. Has anyone herd of the consulate telling them they are in AP, but the CEAC site still says READY?

2. If I call the DOS will they be able to help me, because once again the CEAC says READY?

3. Every time I email about our case/visa will the CEAC website update? Does that just mean someone looked at it or someone is actually doing something to our case?

I can't imagine waiting longer than a few months to hear back or to have my husband here with me. We have waited so long this news has devastated us.

Your statues is the same of mine . My interview was on Feb 23 and we were told that we are approved, and I'm still waiting to see " issued " . My case was ready . then after the interview it shows administrative processing . I have emailed the consulate for more information , they have no complete answer but just waiting . I think it's a normal processing as I read in VJ .

My husbands interview was the same day as yours. They told my husband we are in administrative processing but ours to this day still shows Ready. And from the day of the interview the days that I have seen it has been updated 3 times since my husbands interview.

I'm a bit worry about that . They told me at interview that my case is not gonna be under administrative processing , May be your case is a bit different from mine . as the embassy needs the Israeli criminal certificate , it takes 3 weeks to get it . It has been 2 weeks now and it still says AP . your case has been updated 3 times . it means they are working on it . I wish you see issued soon . your case shows ready , means you are closer to be Issued .

we are in AP 275 days

I am so sorry. That is horrible and I hope that is not the case for my husband and I. Is there really no one in government who can help you?

That did help a bit. However, I saw that all of those people were issued their visa within a few days. They weren't told they are in AP and then their status changed to AP. Which means their visa is getting processed. And they received it the next few days.

They told my husband and I that his visa is in AP on February 26, but even after being updated 3 times since it still says ready instead of AP. I am just hoping this means it is going to go faster.

Do you happen to know if ceac will update whenever someone just opens it or does it mean someone had to change something for it to be updated?

before they issue the visa, they have to get some kind of approval from Washington DC.( told to me by the consulate in Costa Rica in January of this year) It usually takes 24-48 hours but it also depends on your consulate and how fast they want to move. It is normal for status to change from ready to AP to issued. Don't over think it. Just keep an eye on the CEAC status for date changes.

The status has never changed. That's why I was wondering. It has been in ready since before the interview. The status has never changed from ready to anything.

Thank you for the information. Hopefully that is what is going on and maybe it just took longer for my husbands visa to go through DC. He has a very common name.

Result: Approved but in AP

(CEAC: READY)

2/25 - Received a phone call telling us we are in AP (from the consulate)

3/2 - Emailed senator (Never received a response)

3/3 - Updated date (CEAC:READY)

3/10- Emailed the consulate

3/10 - updated date (CEAC:READY)

3/11- updated date (CEAC: READY)

3/12 - updated date (CEAC: READY)

3/13 - MORNING: updated date (CEAC:READY)

AFTERNOON: updated date (CEAC: ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSING)

Is this a good thing that CEAC is updated to AP or does that just make this date that much more official?

It means they are working on your case. It's normal to go from ready to AP to issued. Don't read to much into it. Be glad the dates are changing and someone is actually working on it

Hi

I had my interview on March 10 and the COS said it's approved and gave me a yellow slip and in the CEAC it's shows AP.

After giving the yellow ship the CO said that they will contact me, and took my passport , birth certificate and the marriage certificate.

its normal for the status to go from READY to AP to ISSUED. Sometimes it takes a few days .. Relax and keep checking. It will happen
