k1 2 year expired waiting for 10 yr interview and need to travel to Phills

Hi group,

Our 2 yr is up and we were given a 1 yr ext to wait for our 10 yr interview which is all good but my wife shredded the document unknowingly now we are heading back home to the PI does she need that doc or is she good to go?

I'm assuming PI means Philippines.

Based on My experience with US customs, they don't check it when you leave the U.S., but when you come back, you'll have to present that 1 year extension letter along with the 2 year GC at customs POE.

I'd recommend that you contact uscis immediately and obtain a copy of the letter.

We had to provide ALL of our documents during our recent day-trip to Vancouver, BC, going there AND coming back.

YMMV.
