We are applying for a K-1 visa. We just submitted Packet 3 and are waiting for the interview to be scheduled. About 3 weeks ago I was in Thailand visiting my fiance. Just today I found out she may be pregnant. Does anyone know how that affects the K-1 visa? I've never seen anything about this. I'm kinda overwhelmed at the moment, but any insight might help.

Congratulations first of all! I don't think it should affect your K1 Visa at all, unless you marry before she arrives in the US. Just keep the petition as it is, and she should be in the US long before she really even begins to show. I checked with my insurance company about this as it is a possibility from my upcoming visit. They said it won't matter and I can add her to my policy pregnant or not. You may email the embassy in Thailand. They responded to my email very quickly today.

Makes no affect to the process other than recommending that during the medical mentioning this, Chest x rays are not good for the unborn. Also vaccinations need to be done after child is born.

Question does come up often, searching results in:

It doesn't affect the application, but you should be certain to notify doctors examining her of this possibility. Most of the examination should not affect the baby, assuming she's pregnant.

You are aware that the baby will automatically be a U.S. citizen if born in America. I hope for everyone that this works out because the effects of it not working could be devasting. Work hard on your relationship once she arrives and understand that she will have changes which will affect her.

Good Luck.
