My wife priority date was December 16th, 2013. We have been waiting for her priority date to become current since that time or for me to upgrade her status to IR1 from F2A whenever i become a citizen.

I applied for my citizenship on May 17th, 2013 and due to the extremely slow processing time of Houston office to scheduled an interview and subsequent oath taking ceremony (took more than 9months), i finally became a US citizen today.

I was about to send a letter to NVC to upgrade my wife F2A application to IR1 when i noticed a letter from NVC in my mail box informing me to pay for my AOS and Interview package fees for my wife F2A application (seems all 2013 applicant will soon be current in the next VB).

The question is, should i leave the application as F2A or should i send a mail to NVC to upgrade the case to IR1. Please, bear in mind that if we upgrade, it will cause another delay of 1 month before the case can be upgraded.

I need urgent advice.
