Hi guys,

Me and my American boyfriend just got engaged last sunday. Very exciting and very happy :) I am currently living in Antwerp, Belgium and we are obviously trying to figure out the best way for me to move to the US and spend the rest of our lives together...

So I was wondering if there are any other Belgians on here who would like to stay in touch with me and maybe give some advice on how they went about it?

I have so many questions!!

Was also wondering if it is best to follow protocol and just do the whole K1 Visa application from Belgium, or can we also get married in the US and then file everything from there together? I heard it's best not to visit the States while filing for the K1 and since I don't know how long that will take, it kind of scares me...I love our home in LA, I even like it better there than my place in my own country. All tips welcome!!

Thank you so much already,

Nele

Belgian girl here engaged to an American as well! We're looking into the whole i-129F thing right now so we're not approved yet either but it's good to know I'm not the only one who's pretty lost in the administration! I'm from Flanders and of course I'd love to keep in touch!

Kind regards

Kim

Hi Kim!

Of "hoi en hoe gaat het" :D hahaha

We just received confirmation and are now waiting on response of the service center in California... I've heard it can go really fast in Cali so we're hopeful!

Where are you guys filing??

If you're ever in town, feel free to hit me up! Would love to grab a coffee!

Much love en vriendelijke groetjes,

Nele

Hey Nele!

Met mij alles goed hopelijk met jou ook!

That's awesome, hopefully for you guys time will fly!

My fiancé and I are filing in Virginia, we're getting everything ready in between work and family life but it seems to be quite a lot. I have no clue how fast things go in VA but if it's a slow process I might visit him over the summer before I get my interview!

Cali and Roanoke VA are rather far apart but if we're ever there I'll definitely hit you up! And you should do the same thing if y'all are in VA some time! :D

Much love

Kim
