Any thoughts? My fiance has very limited English, but her daughter (age 17) will be at the interview at the same time. Daughter's English is better and she has been our translator when I visit. Will daughter be able to sit with my fiance during the interview?

I believe the interview can be conducted in English or Russian. It seems to go better for the beneficiary if the interview is in English. The CO sometimes seems to want to make a big deal out of a beneficiary's poor English skills, unless of course, you speak Russian. You didn't fill out your timeline. How far away is your interview? If it is months away, maybe your lady can improve her English a bit during this time, especially if her daughter can help. Anyway, good luck to you...

My fiance doesn't speak English and in Brazil the interviews are usually in Portuguese, I guess you can request English. I'm not worried at all, nor should you be, if Russia is like Brazil.

However, I am fluent in his language and we can show that is how we communicate.

Are you afraid that will be a problem for you, or do you speak Russian?

03/2007 - K1 approved

04/2007 - Apply for AOS & EAD

07/2007 - EAD approved

01/2008 - Conditional Residency approved

11/2009 - Apply to remove conditions

02/2010 - Permanent Residency approved

11/2010 - Apply for Citizenship

03/2011 - Citizenship approved

07/2011 - Moved back to Brazil
