My fiancé has gotten her annulment from the court. She has seen the papers, but they will not give them to her until they get receipts from the post office from the 3 agencies they sent them to. They stated they sent the letters Dec.13, 2014 but she has still not gotten the finalized papers. Does anyone know how long this process takes? She is from Davao, PH

Could you please clarify which papers she has received? It sounds as like she only received her court decision. Or maybe she received her Certificate of Finality but they will not give them to her(the original papers) until it is registered with the NSO.

These are the steps that you need to take to finalize your paperwork.

Your fiancée will need the decision of the annulment, entry of judgment, then the decree of annulment. Then she needs to secure copy of the marriage contract with the annulment annotated on it. A total of four documents. BTW, if there is already a decision, she needs to wait 20 days from receipt of the Solicitor General of copy of her decision before she can secure the Entry of Judgment. After securing the Entry of Judgment, she will have to register the same to the Local Civil Registrar where the marriage took place. The said office will transmit the same to the NSO. She will show the Court what date the LCR transmitted the documents to the NSO. With the proof of receipt of the NSO, the Court will then issue the Decree of Annulment. After 15 days from receipt of the NSO of her documents, she can now request for copy of the marriage contract with the annotated annulment proceedings. She need to request at least 4 copies for future use.

Hope this helps.

Hi Greenbaum,

That helps a lot. It sounds like you've been through this. As you can imagine Im very excited to get the finality papers in our hands. The annulment was finalized. Now I guess I'm just wait for the process you described to be completed. Do you gave any idea how much longer?

Thanks
