sbai2000, I really identify with you. I have been silent about the discussion on this link because for the past one week, I have also been down psychologically. I receive these mails in my box but don't usually log into the website because I have been frustrated myself. I have been keeping so much to myself. In fact, my husband thought it was Country-related, that may be because we are Nigerians that that is the reason the process is slower. The truth is, we are already thinking of him coming back home to stay because if USA won't want us to together as man and wife, why not just stay in our home country and be together. My marriage will be 5 in few months' time. I still can't boast of being a married woman in every sense of the word.

In as much as what Nilx25 said was true, it is no longer same. Why would fiance/fiances get to be together under a year, condition or no condition attached,(no grudge intended) and people who are legally married get to be separated for this long. We have been consoling ourselves but I know that if by this year's anniversary, the immigration process still seems bleak, I definitely will encourage my husband to come back home for good. What is the essence of great opportunities in the USA if you can't be with your partner. It is so unfair. I witnessed a friend's wedding here in Nigeria, July 25/26, 2014. The husband in UK, I tell you that he started the filing process after he returned to the UK in August, and before November, same year, the wife has joined him.

They should think of families, I beg to disagree with the saying that America encourages family being together. This process says otherwise. My husband went for his Naturalization Interview last month, he was told to go back as paperwork would be sent to him, till date, no news.

And yes, sbai2000, had it been we also received the transfer notice, it would have been more encouraging. It is disheartening.

Habel and others, I know you always have kind words to give but the truth is, this process is so unfair. We are also human and we need to be with our loved ones. Even if not for the sole purpose of procreation, we need to be together to take care of each other. My husband is so tired of cooking by himself, and even sometimes, he just go to bed hungry and tired. He needs me, I need him. Family members are good to be around with, but I really need my husband. By the time the next bulletin is released, it should be up to Sept 1, 2013 or beyond. Our PD is Oct. 7, 2013, still no progress.

sbai2000, yes, pls feel free to express urself, I do same with my sisters here and even wept last week. Yes, I know we will all scale through soon, but we need to know when.

Hi Jedjem - hugs to you. I understand what you are saying.....yea the K-1 visa is one of the hardest visas to swallow.

You and your husband must hang in there because your Green card is around the corner. This is not the time for him to go back home unless he is going home for a visit...i know that for me, I have been lucky because my husband has been able to come and go quite a few times during this whole process - which has made things a little more bearable for us.

But Jedjem - it is almost your time! I believe that you were not transferred because your PD was too close...maybe 2 months away? Have you/your husband called VSC to and made a fuss?

you really should call and escalate as much as you can. Don't sit back on this because your PD could be current in 2 months and that wont give you much time to get everything together. Although this may all be moot because since your husband is going for his citizenship....I actually have a good feeling for you that you will get your GC soon.

hugs, sis.

Thanks Habel.

I woke up now to receive a message from my husband. He got a RFE triggered by his Naturalisation Interview, to be submitted within a time frame. Not glad about the RFE but it is quite a relief that someone actually looked at our case. :) .

Habel, my husband has been calling severally, same story you read online, they tell him on phone. So, we agreed that if no news by Apr 6, he should request for an infopass and during the weekend we said to wait for this week Thurs. But today, we got the RFE.

as soon as he wakes, he will start working on their request and hopefully within a week send it to them.I will update you as the journey progresses.

More news will run in for you guys this week too but I pray you don't receive RFEs :):) .

All the best to us all guys.

All - I put a service call to USCIS this morning. my call was escalated to an immigration officer....and he was very pleasant and sympathetic...but the basic information he gave me was that they were working on September 30 2013 cases and since they had not yet got to our PD of December 2, 2013 there was nothing they could do.

I said case has been transferred to CSC....he said I shouldn't go by that. he said that the centers are all aware of each other and that there has just been a lot of applications. I said but people after our PD have already been approved...he said I shouldn't go by that. Everything is case by case.

he was very nice and sympathetic - but basically he said that we just have to wait....very confusing phone-call!

so the wait continues.... :bonk:

Its true that calling will not be help unless other people within your priority date got approved. I see that lot of november filers got approved except Nigeria, Algeria, egypt. Its not going to be long for december filers to be approved. I suggest that enjoy your homeland as much because once you leave, you will miss your country the most. Make your wait most memorable with friends and family.
