Married but filing tax refunds separately

Hi, I submitted my N-400 January 2015 and i'm waiting on biometrics. I already submitted 2 years tax transcript I filed jointly with my spouse, but I would like to file this year's tax as "Married and filing separately" not jointly. Do you think I can get denied at my interview because I filed tax separately not joint?

You filing status won't affect their decision. You're filing as married - that's that counts.

As long as you pay your tax and file income tax return, no problem at all.

What if I filed as single because in my case, my mother in law claimed my husband and daughter as her dependents. I just filed to get my withholding tax? Will that be a problem?

You can't file as single, because you're married. In this case you should file as MFS since your mother already claimed your husband.
