Hey Everyone,

so my fiancé filed his petition march 2014 and we received a RFE Dec 16th request proof we were going to get married within 90 days of my entry.. so we sent all the information back and they sent us a email saying they received it jan 2nd.. everyones time timeline I look at gets a reply in 1- 2 weeks... I have no clue what is taking so long... I visit my fiancé 2 times a month and we have more then enough proof... my family has even been down to meet his family and we own a house together and everything... this is starting to get too frustrating.. and the thing is we are both Canadian, so I am debating having him come back to Canada and just get married... like I assumed everything would be done by now...

anyone have any advice!!??

yeah I never thought it would take this long.. our case is super straight forward. and I see him twice a month... and evertime I go thru immigration into the US I always tell them I am going to see my fiancé and then they ask me when we are getting married and I tell them once my K1 visa is approved and they are always very nice about it and I have never had a problem!! and I have been doing this for over a year and a half! He has also come up to Canada with me too. ( his is a dual citizen) we are also born in the same province in Canada too... its just sooo frustrating :(

They did us the same way 3 times and ended up with a denial.....So we ended up getting married and filed for I-130.....CO told us to just get married because it's really hard to show proof that we are really getting married once he arrived. 2 time around for us we at the NVC stage now....So Sorry Wish u luck

well I sent them my engagement ring... our wedding bands... proof of booking the venue and convo's with me and him and me and his mom! I don't know what else they could want :(

Have you guys filed an e-service request? You are outside of normal processing times, even the delayed posted once.

Called USCIS? Spoken to a tier 2 officer? Contacted congressmen/women and asked for help?

It is unusal, to say the least - you are from a "low risk" country, I can't imagine there'd be a denial. Sounds like an administrative error.

yeah our lawyer filed a e service request in November .. and they told our lawyer that they were behind at TSC. and that we would hear back by the latest in 30 days.. and at the 30 day mark they sent us a RFE. on the website it says the latest we will hear back something is march 3.14... I just never imagined it would take this long.

So, when did they receive the RFE response? Typical time frame after that is 2-4 weeks...

I know this process sucks, I have just started it myself with my fiance too.

Take comfort in the fact that you can see your fiance reasonably often. And I'd get on the phone first thing Monday, if only to do something!

we received the RFE on December 16th .. but didn't get it in the mail till the 19th.. we replied on the 30th due to it being Christmas time and they received it Jan 2nd... and on our thing it says we should hear back by march 3.14

Okay, so you know they got the RFE. It is unsual for them to take very long with an RFE - not unheard of, but not that common currently. Call them. And file another service request as soon as you are able. Have you tried your luck with an infopass appointment?

no we haven't.. but that might be a good Idea I am back there on the 12th for 5 days so then would be a good time.. I would both like to go.


but our lawyer also told us to make sure we do everything thru him. cause he is the one representing us.
