When should I call?

We submitted our application on Aug. 8, 2014 and got the NOA1 on Aug.11, 2014 but it seems they haven't touched our case since considering there hasn't been any updates. Do I call them to see what's going on six months after (Feb 11. 2015) or do I wait a month or two more? I know TSC is a bit slower than that other two and I saw the processing times but it's just a general question. My timeline data is telling me my I129F may be adjudicated between February 3, 2015 and March 21, 2015 which is in about a week from now to a month so should I wait til after that period or just til Feb 11th? Thanks

If you call now, they'd tell you to wait. If you call a month later, and your case still hasn't been approved, they'd tell you to wait. So call whenever you feel like calling, but don't expect much from them

Pretty much what's been said.

We filed July 8. I called December 16, which was 5 months from our NOA1 date - this was the standard processing time when we filed. We were told nothing they can do, we had to wait. They quoted the website's processing time date. I finally got a Tier 2 agent who opened an inquiry for us on the same day. On December 29, it was closed out as "within normal processing times", even though we were almost at 6 months.

I sent a letter to my Senator who inquired to USCIS about our application. The day before I received our NOA2 alert the Senator's office replied back saying TSC was pulling our file and having it assigned to an officer.

Calling USCIS will get you nowhere unless the date on their official processing times page is actually past your NOA1 date. They are essentially useless. Tier 2 agents may be able to get you a bit more information but they still are not the ones to handle the inquiry answers, and if that date doesn't surpass your NOA1... well, you probably won't get much help.

You can do whatever makes you feel better - we tried everything.. Senator, Congressman, calling the service center, Omsbudsman case, emails to the Director of USCIS and TSC, online conference with the Director of USCIS hoping to get a question asked... the works. Just don't expect much until you've reached either the date on their site, or around 7 months.
