Does anyone have a list of the total and complete fees one will need to pay for the entire CR-1 Process, outlined in bullet point form?

Additionally, to clarify, I'm the U.S. citizen who lives with my wife and two step children in Australia. I will be applying for all THREE of them.

I understand that I need to pay TRIPLE the amount during the I-130 process, as I need to complete a form for each of them. I need clarification if this is the same throughout the entire process.

If you could help me conclude what my total fees will be, that would be incredibly helpful.

Thank you!

  • I-130 = $420 each
  • AOS fee = $120(only pay once for all petitions)
  • IV fee = $325 each
  • Medical fees = varies (each needs their own medical.. generally a child's medical fee is cheaper than an adults)
  • Police certificate = varies by country but only those age 16 and older need a police certificate
  • Immigrant visa fee = $165 each

The AOS fee is the only fee that covers everyone, but each petition needs it's own AOS package. Make sure all 3 petitions are at the NVC and are joined up (you call the NVC to confirm) before paying this fee to avoid paying it more than once.

Also make sure the children each have a passport.

Their mother also needs to either have complete sole custody and/or a notarized letter from the biological father (if alive, a death certificate if not) saying he knows the children are moving to the USA. Any joint custody agreements should be amended to reflect the move as well. While this won't be needed until at least the interview, and maybe not until POE, it's an important thing to take note of because it may (or may not) take some time to acquire.

Hi NLR,

Thank you for your help. Could you clarify what NVC stands for and how I would find this phone number to call? I'm a U.S. citizen and am in Australia with my Australian wife.

Thank you,

~E

National visa center. Do not worry about it until after you've sent the petitions.

There is a wiki called NVC process that i can't link atm because I'm on my phone.
