I have some questions in terms of denied issues during the medical exams in SLEC. They say using drugs is one of the criteria you might get denied. ptb patients might also have delayed issues. Other than that? what else? having a positve hiv, std? or having an abortion in tha past years? :help:

Admitting to drug use, even if you took one puff will render a psy. evaluation with possible denial or you may receive an approval based on tests rendered. This one you roll the dice on. Read the current discussion and determine your answer.

Other than that, if you are currently afflicted with a contagious or communicable disease of public health significance you will be denied unless it's curable and if so IMHO, I would cure myself first then seek your visa when healthy. HIV you will not be denied. STD I recommend seeing a Dr. and remedy the situation through treatment and then pursue your visa.

Keep in mind that the is no official list of diseases or disorders that make a visa applicant inadmissible. The examining doctor will decide whether your condition and behavior has “posed or is likely to pose a threat to the property, safety, or welfare of the alien or others.” The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s “top suspect” diseases include infectious tuberculosis, untreated venereal and other sexually transmitted diseases, and untreated Hansen’s disease (leprosy). HIV was removed from the list in January of 2010.

If you have an illness that causes you trouble but will not infect or injure others, such as heart disease, cancer, or certain mental illnesses, you will not be inadmissible on medical grounds. However, it's possible you could be found inadmissible as a likely public charge -- that is, someone likely to require need-based government assistance (often referred to as welfare) -- if you will not be able to work and don’t have medical insurance.

If this is regarding an abortion, I would not tell any of the quack doctors at SLEC anything. Your body your right.

If the USA really cared about medical they would have you do the medical testing in USA with a USA doctors.

Good luck..

Funny you said the exact opposite here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/532954-random-medical-issues-please-read/?p=7440993

Confused here, So if she had abortion you do not need to mention to SLEC? I believe this is bad information to tell someone.

Actually I read it perfectly. I will give more context so it is a bit more clear.

From the previous thread:

VOL, I don't know if it's your English that's bad or you just don't have any manners cause you are coming across as quite rude...

OP, the medical examination in the Philippines is done by St Luke's Medical Center, which was established to work with visa immigrants to the US and later on to other countries as well. They are the sole accredited medical facility to conduct medical examinations for US visa immigration purposes and have been approved by both the CDC and the US State Department as following human rights and US customs. As part of the medical examination, you are to mention any pregnancies AND deliveries. If you had a pregnancy that did not end up with a delivery, for whatever reason, you don't need to mention that. If you are still worried about this, send me a message and I'll be happy to contact the US embassy in Manila and check on this using my name.

Confused here, So if she had abortion you do not need to mention to SLEC? I believe this is bad information to tell someone.

What will probably happen is the OP will have to undergo a Pshychological Evalution.

If she starts lying then she could have bigger issues

From the previous thread it appears he is disagreeing with the fact that you "don't need to mention" anything to the doctor in regards to abortion. In other words, he is stating that you SHOULD tell the doctors.

From this thread:

Now, he is stating the opposite. He is saying that you SHOULD NOT tell the doctors anything.

To summarize what VOL is saying is don't tell them anything and if they ask lie. He's been saying this for months now. Just ignore him.

The right thing to do is if asked then tell the truth because if you lie and you get caught you will have bigger problems like being banned to ever apply for a visa again. Zedayn is saying the same thing and I agree.
