Changing jobs during the AOS process

Hi all!

Seeking the wisdom of VJers again as we encounter our first big job/career decision. We are in the process of filing our AOS (our petition is at the MSC currently) and I have just received a job offer which would allow me to work and finish up my graduate degree (I had to put my degree on a bit of a hold so I could work full time to meet the income requirement). This new position would only pay around 1,000 over the income limit, however. While I've bugdeted it out and it is enough for us to live on, I am worried if we have an interview for our AOS they will be unhappy with my income. Has anyone else experienced this? As long ad I meet the income requirement, even if its okay by 1000, we're okay right?

All that we are and all that will be we dedicate to the One who brought us together

For AOS the income requirement is a bar you must be able to get over. How far over is not important. If you have an interview, I would take along a letter from your current employer and recent pay stubs to show the IO if the question comes up. For our interview it was about answering the questions on the I-485 form--i.e. name, address, age, parent's names, where they live, SSN, etc. Nothing about income. Just document this life changing event on the I-751 removal of conditions (ROC) form.

Good luck,

Dave

Thanks so much Dave and Rosa! So it really won't matter how far over, just as long as we are over? Thanks again!
