I am presently a green card holder, I got married january 2014 in nigeria . I filed i-130 for my my wife in february 2014 and it was approved in april 2014and sent to NVC and i was sent a confirmation from NVC with case Number and wife gave birth in october 2014. I am also schedule to have my citizenship interview on january 27 2015.

My question is:

1.) do i need to file another I-130 for my new born son because we had him after i130 was already approved while I am still a green card holder ?

2.) will i be able to connect the two cases if i have to file seperate i130 for my son?

I really appreciate any contribution as i am very confused and sad because i reallyyyyyyy misses my family :huh2:

Since you are naturalizing soon you'll have to file a separate i130 for your son. Better file your son's i130 once you have your Naturalization certificate so he will be IR2 category. Attach a copy of your wife's NOA2 and request an expedite so they can be processed at close range from each other.

Once you get your Naturalization certificate, you can upgrade your wife's case. There's a thread here about that. Somebody's case took 50 days to be upgraded from F2A to IR1/CR1.

I totally agree with Apple21, but make sure your wife go with the new born on the interview day because they might even tell her what to do about the new born baby, sometimes they might grant the new born a visa also if she passes her interview, its all about favor because it has happen to someone I heard about few years ago. They ask her to come back with the babies passport and the visa was issued the third . So be positive and let them know on the day of your interview that you have a new baby because they will also program it in your record and they will be able to see on your wife interview day.

Good Luck
