We approved already but still waiting for the case number i already sent the affidavit of support to my fiance in the phil. In her interview does she need to have a new letter of intent for her interview? Thanks a lot

Hank's Guide is excellent. Seriously. Far superior to any of the official government websites regarding this process.

OP, please keep us updated as to when your Petition is approved at NVC (I'm not sure if that's even the correct word, "approve?" Does NVC disapprove Petitions that have already been approved by USCIS?).

NVC does review the case file before assigning the MNL #, if they find issue they don't deny the petition but return it to USCIS to review/approve a 2nd time. Couple just went through this on here.

Here is what the embassy instructions letter states (you should be reading this and using it for your checklist BTW):

h. EVIDENCE OF A GENUINE ENGAGEMENT. You must be prepared to prove to the consular officer

that you have a genuine relationship with your petitioner and a clear intention to marry within 90 days of

admission into the U.S. In the past, successful applicants have submitted photographs, letters, e-mails,

phone records, bank records, and remittance records as evidence supporting their relationships and intent to

marry.

Now that tends to say - have a Letter of Intent. BUT... it has not been asked for in years, going on 4 years by my count. The decision is yours.

Fiancée had her USEM interview this week and she was not asked for updated letters of intent. Our original letters were 11 months old because we were doing DOT for 8 months. We did have new letters ready to show the CO, but again we weren't asked for them.

The CO did ask her about wedding plans in terms of our intent to marry. Here are the questions she was asked and I heard similar questions being asked at other windows. When is the marriage? What state are you marrying in? Do you plan on civil or church wedding?
