Hi everyone,

I have my interview on the 21st of January but am totally confused about a letter I received regarding my I-693.

It tells me I need to bring a completed I-693 to the interview, but doesn’t specify exactly what the problem is. I had my medical in London in the summer, so it’s still within the one year, and submitted a full, complete vaccination sheet. All this was included in the K1 package I handed over at my point of entry.

It’s now too late to cram in another full medical before the interview. I got the letter in November but was advised not to get a new medical unless I received an official RFE - which I didn’t. I’ve spoken to USCIS and they don’t know why I’ve had the letter - they advised me to just go to the interview, see what’s said and then take action.

So -

Do I need the vaccination sheet transcribed? It was all complete but I also included a flu jab from Walgreens that wasn’t on the official sheet. I’m not sure if I accidentally invalidated it and now need a new one that includes that shot too.

Do I need a whole new medical? It seems common that they lose K1 medical results.

How much is this going to hurt me in the interview? The letter says to bring the form and that not bringing along a complete I-693 could result in a denial of the AOS petition. Does this actually happen or will they just tell me what I need to get done? The guy from USCIS reassured me that they don’t outright deny based on that, but the letter has me nervous.

I agree with the USCIS person. They won't deny you. They may send you away to get some further documentation.

And best of all--- you will be face to face with a person who will explain exactly what he wants from you, if anything. The letter could have been totally generic and not crafted exactly to you. Go to the interview and find out.
