At the USEM entrance they ask for the printed DS confirmation, printed appointment page and passport. Then they place a sticker on the back of the passport. All three of these items are then given back to proceed in to the embassy through a security check. Once inside a number gets stapled to that confirmation page. That confirmation page and number is asked for at every window within the USEM in order to progress through the 5 steps. It's an important one.

From the date we mailed the I-129F to the USCIS until the date of embassy interview, 4,5 months. Phil applications are expedited for reasons unknown to me, but Phil applicants are processed very very fast by the USCIS. Also, UESM has flexible scheduling meaning you can schedule interview using Manila case number u get on the phone from the NVC before you even get a letter from the Embassy. That speeds things up too. Our case is not unique but seems to be pretty standard timeline among Phil applicants.

The are still processing applicants fast from the Philippines, because of typhoon Yolanda. The biggest typhoon to ever hit land. It happen in November 2013 Edited by j&ana

May I ask how long it took you guys to get to this point? I've read everything from 6 months, to over a year, to finally get my fiancé's K1...We had "planned" on six months, but after reading threads here I'm beginning to think that's optimistic.

you have not fill out a timeline yet.If your case is process at California service center, and with your fiancee being in the Philippines. it is a very good possibilty, that you could have a fast approval.I am not saying you will, as things could change.but the odds for you are greater then those from other countries

Thanks, J. I'll let you know what happens. I sent my petition in on Dec. 15, but I expect a big time slow down and back up due to the holidays.

Do you happen to know anything about the name checks? Are they done by State or by USCIS? And on both of us or just the beneficiary?

Thought I'd ask as Google searches came up with nothing and the thread I attempted to start on it failed to generate interest.

Separately, congrats to Jorge and Rose.

Will do :)

By the way, I have a question. My wife was looking at the CFO requirements. One of them was "Immigrant Data Summary for US-bound emigrants". Where does she get this? Will she receive this when she gets her visa?

Immigrant data sheet is attached to the DO NOT OPEN packet, you will need to make a copy for CFO plus they want to see the original (annoying considering it is attached to the envelope)

Info on CFO in my link below
