My wife had her interview on December 29. Everything went well and she got a paper saying congratulations on the visa and they kept her passport. she logged into the ustraveldocs.com and the site is really slow for her and took a lot to get to pay online or at the bank. When she clicked either or an error message would come up.

The next day I get an email saying additional processing is needed. They only ask for one thing. Her police record for her whole life. She is working on getting that. But we still can't pay. This really sucks because well I thought we got through all the #######. I think this is what cgi stanley wants. She has a police certificate for the time she lived in GZ until now which is 6 years. Which at the interview they looked at.

On a bright note my wife wasn't planning on flying here right away. She has a few projects at work and a few weddings to go to and the earliest she can come is mid March. So I hope everything will be good by then.

Does anyone now how long this will take after we submit the documents? She will have the record next week sometime.

Thanks

Mark

First, Congratulations on the recent successful interview and too bad for the current minor AP detour. I am not aware of any specific time frame for the Guangzhou consulate for AP processing after requested document submission.... it is likely a wait and see type of thing. Hopefully it will be promptly resolved.

While you are waiting, you may want to correct the interviewing embassy/consulate on your timeline. It currently shows "Armenia"?

Hang in there.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

1. You had submitted (or shown) them the police certificate and they want it again?

I don't recall on my wife's police certificate containing any date range.

How do you get a "lifetime" police certificate? Did she lived abroad at some point?

2. My fiancee at the time also had two problems with the CGI site.

First, it was very slow, and second, the capcha (you know those garbled up numbers

that's hard to read) wasn't displaying most of the time.

So she started the data entry, but I ended up finishing it for her.

And I recall, printing the final confirmation page to a pdf file,

and emailed her, so that she can print it, and then take it to the CITIC bank to pay the fee.

I think a police record from the PSB in her hukou city covers all of China, but if you get a police record from the PSB outside of the hukou city then it will only cover that specific region.

Thank you! Armenia?? Wow yes I need to update but my computer died on me and I have just been using my phone. A little hard to do things on this site with my phone. I will get that updated asap though.

Thanks

Yes you are correct. My wife lives in Guangzhou and her Hukou city his Hefei. Luckily her uncle works for the government and lives there and going to get that for her so she doesn't have to travel there to get it. I hope it won't take long after.

I logged on to the ustraveldocs.com site and got stuck on step 8 also. It just asks for the cgi number and that is all. I cannot choose a payment option.

Thanks

Mark

payment option after interview?

are you trying to pay the 165 fee to ELIS, instead? [sorry if I seem confused]

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

My wife got her police certificate, birth certificate, and no marriage certificate from local police,

but later we were advised by VJ-ers here to get it from the GongZhengChu...in what's

alternative called "White Book" by some.

This comes in both Chinese and English in one booklet for each of the certificate,

and that's all that was needed for us.

ya, is 2 seperate offices - 2 different names -

one issues stuff in chinese,

the other issues a notarial translation, chinese into english, making a white book of each thing.

in some places, need to go to several offices for original chinese documents - birth certificate office not same as police clearance certificate office, for example.

in the end - with all chinese documents in hand, go to one office for white books creation.

I'm confused at this moment now. We are using the instructions the consulate have my wife. The payment option is online or pay at the bank.

The good news is she got the cgi number. And she should have her new police certificate next week. My wife made a few calls and and found out it will only take a week or two to clear this.

So hopefully that will be it and my wife will get her visa.

Thanks

Mark
