I find it HEELAREEOOS that the Petro Industry can continue to dupe the American public with these non scientific blog postings. They are certainly counting on the volume of arguments posted and not the validity of their arguments. The industry does not attempt to supply their own science, they know that does not support their cause. They only want to keep their subsidies in place long enough to milk every last dollar from us.

It has to be a textbook case on how to influence public opinion by saving a dying industry by not wining an argument, but by slowing the acceptance of scientific fact by the public. Its probably borrowed right out of the Joe Kamel playbook.

Here is the bigger story:

This is about money and the oil industry is not about to go quietly into that good night.

Big oil is dead, solar will be cheaper per BTU in 50 US states within two years, even with the current drop to $50 barrel. You are hearing the wheezing and coughing of a dead man walking. If we were smart ( count on Americans to get smart as a last resort) we would kick these blood suckers to the curb and cut their subsidies, but there is too much political backing and money flowing into key states and even our own federal tax coffers to stomach that.

The point of this game is to not be the Ponzi, you don't want to be standardized on carbon when the rest of the world has moved on.

The content available on a site dedicated to bringing folks to America should not be promoting racial discord, euro-supremacy, discrimination based on religion , exclusion of groups from immigration based on where they were born, disenfranchisement of voters rights based on how they might vote.

I am fairly sure you are missing the point...I am glad you find yourself amusing.

When is the last time you bought a carbon credit?

The Koch brothers and Exxon would like you to Rathole on carbon credits and what percentage of climate scientist can dance on the head of a pin. The question you should be asking yourself is how much money am I leaving on the table as a taxpayer with Oil subsidies and how much opportunity am I missing by not getting ready for the NextGen energy solution.

Ask yourself the following:

How much money am I losing by not staying up to date?

How well is the current system working for me as an energy consumer?

Am I prepared to be less efficient than competing economies and ensure my children have a competitive disadvantage?

The content available on a site dedicated to bringing folks to America should not be promoting racial discord, euro-supremacy, discrimination based on religion , exclusion of groups from immigration based on where they were born, disenfranchisement of voters rights based on how they might vote.

None. I fact I save quite a bit. It is cheaper for me to leave in my old inefficient windows than it would be to replace then. Natural gas is cheap.

Great. Gas is cheap. The freedom gasoline engines gives me is unreal. One of the greatest inventions ever.

Doomsday thinking. When a cheaper , better product comes along…….people will get on board.

37.5 billion in oil subsidies is not a handwringing end if the world scenario. It is us the amount the taxpayers pay in corporate welfare for oil. That does not count our investment in securing sea lanes in the Mideast and the cost of what ever wars ir conflicts that we may have avoided if we weren't so stuck on oil.

The real issue is that we don't have a strategy for energy in this country and the clock is ticking. But hey if you are a committed socialist for oil, its a free country.

The clock has been ticking since the planet was formed. So has the existence of humans. When a better cheaper product is developed/invented the same scenario you are protesting will happen again.

How many billions have we paid on research, subsidies, tax breaks trying to find something better?

The clock I am referring to is the money clock, we need to adjust our thinking to look and plan forward if we expect to prosper as a country. This is less about government or industry and more about the lag in consumers being informed.

When a better cheaper product is developed/invented the same scenario you are protesting will happen again.

What does this mean?
