Hi guys,

New to the forums and me and my American fiancée are just starting to compile everything for the initial I-129F petition, just have a couple of questions on things we weren't so sure of, if anyone here could help that would be great as we're both finding it all pretty daunting right now!

1) Is the correct fee $340 as of right now? I can't seem to get a definite answer everywhere I've looked and want to make sure the cost hasn't changed for 2015

2) My fiancée has been living with me in London for the past five months, during that time we got engaged and she is just about to go back to the U.S. and start applying for the K1 visa for me to come over for our wedding in October. Her mum has agreed to co-sponsor us and we'll initially be living in her house when I come over. It's unlikely my fiancée will have a job in time for sending the initial package over but USCIS obviously won't know her mum is supporting us until the interview is scheduled and she fills out the affidavit of support. Will the fact at she's unemployed be an issue?

3) VJ is telling us to send the package to the Dallas lockbox, however I'm also seeing other centres in each state, including one in Newark which would be the closest to us. I'm just a little confused on all of these government centres and their purpose, although I take it the Dallas address is definitely the one to send it to?

Thanks in advance for your help, sorry if I sound a little dumb just really want to make sure to get it right!

Cheers,

Matt

One point you didn't ask about but....

October wedding should be ok, but it is always dangerous to book anything before the visa is granted; you may face delays due to a mistake you made requiring an RFE, or because your case gets lost, or due to extra security checks, or... you get the picture.

Yes, always read the current form instructions as found on the USCIS website.

2) Will the fact at she's unemployed be an issue?

No, a cosponsor is allowed.

3) VJ is telling us to send the package to the Dallas lockbox, however I'm also seeing other centres in each state, including one in Newark which would be the closest to us. Dallas, they will forward it to a service center on their own.

Thanks in advance for your help, sorry if I sound a little dumb just really want to make sure to get it right!

Read the Guides and Follow the Example Forms.

Cheers,

Matt
