Hi. I'm not yet near the finish line for my F2B with 2 derivatives but I just want to know. What MONTHS (dates) are the peak season to travel to US (California)?

Im looking at April2015 interview if things go well ; and I understand i should purchase tix after i get hold of our visa. Buying for the 3 of us (w/ kids 5&6yo) I wanted to get off peak and the cheapest as much as possible.

I know of the 6-mo visa validity but wouldnt want to wait that long. Wants May or June travel if still off peak. And to get cheaper rates booking should be done by how many months before?

Appreciate any help.

You book now 6 months out and you will pay a premium prices.

I usually wait about 1 to 2 months before traveling to get my tickets to and from Philippines.

Generally as a rule major holidays and summer time USA (June, July, August) are highest ticket price to travel to and from Philippines.

OP,

Agree with VOL. Major holidays...Easter, Christmas it gets more expensive.

It boils down to supply and demand. It depends on what's more important to

you...waiting to possibly get a good price and save some cash, (book 1-2 months out)

or book a little further out when availability of flights on dates will be more plentiful.

Good luck.

PS: Found a LAX-MNL R/T <$1K June/July. Not sure about the time frame you're looking at.

I found flights in May $783 RT LAX to MNL. Use Google Flight Search: https://www.google.com/flights/

I read a news article recently from a travel writer who researched best times to book international flights. Apparently 170 days from date of flight is cheapest, Tuesday and Sundays are lowest priced days to purchase. Don't know if either is true, but I've been watching Philippines flights in April using Skyscanner and get email price alerts almost every day. And I have noticed minor price drops on Sundays and Tuesdays.

I like China Airlines. They have cheap prices even purchased just few days before the flight (which we did). I have tried it twice, roundtrip from Mar-May and one way last Dec 17 which all last year. But they have stop over in Taiwan, though. Try checking their website.

AOS Journey:

March 30 - AOS/EAD/AP sent

April 2 - USCIS received

April 9 - NOA1

May 6 - Biometrics

May 7 - Case is ready for interview

May 21 - Request for EAD expedite

May 26 - contact congressman for EAD expedite

June 1 - EAD card in production

June 2 - EAD approved

June 6 - EAD/AP combo card received

Do not finalize arrangements for travel to the United States, dispose of properties, or resign from your job until a visa has been issued and delivered to you. These are words directly from USEM. Don't put yourself in a situation that you are panicking to change travel arrangements and you lose money in the process and not to mention, but I will, the stress you'll be under.
