Hi we filed the I-751 about 3 weeks ago we received the Biometric notce today and its for DEc 29th 2014 .Question once we made it this far is that a good sign i.e can they still ask for an interview etc..

My husband is from Peru and we are living here in Washington DC .I guess my question is when the receive the package if they have questions are They normally addressed asked before the the Biometric notice arrives or after I know they will run my husbands fingerprints again he has no issues with the law or taxes etc and we are the real deal together since 2007 married 4 years now.

They can ask for anything, and at any time.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Look at it this way because you seem a tad confused with the process.

Biometics has NOTHING to do with his approval or not for AOS.

It is just a stage that they send for as soon as they get his application. It's just something everyone has to do, it's fingerprints and one photograph. That is it,

His green card can still take up to a year.\

He sends the application you do your biometrics and then you wait the long horrible process, in which you could get an RFE or an interview or neither.

Like cdneh said, they can ask for anything at any time.

This is a long waiting game.

just stay positive, and dont check his status every day like me, its already driving me insane.

It is good news he has his biometrics this month!!!

Well, it is a good sign that biometrics are getting done this month, but it is not an indication whether or not they will require an interview for him at a later time during the AOS process.

It is totally a separare step, the biometrics are for getting fingerprints and photos taken, the interview is another process.

An interview will be a step during the AOS process, it may be required or it may not, but it is up to USCIS to determine that.

If that is the case he will receive mail/letter stating that or he will get an interview date, once they process his application for AOS.

By the way, my wife is from Peru too living in DC as well.... Lol :-) We are waiting for her biometrics appointment and for the next steps on her AOS application:-) Just got her NOA1 last week!

Well, your husband has good chances that USCIS may not require an interview for him since you have been married for almost 7 years, but who knows, right?. It is USCIS!!!!!

To answer your questions: Biometrics is the first step, then later he should get a letter NOA2 saying that his application for AOS was approved or if he needs to attend an interview, etc, etc... I hope he gets a NOA2 and not and RFE which could delay more the wait. Anyway, fingers cross :-)

I hope this helps and I wish you both good luck!
