Hi HoTmom17 why does your mom have to do a Sputum test? Its that something that they only do on the Philiphines? I am a little worry my mom has to do that too. She is a heavy smoker and coughs a lot. Although her doctors say is just because she smokes I worry is something else. Any advice?

Hi Claudis927, no it's not only in the Philippines. My grandmother had to do it too :( 2 or 3 month delay in El Salvador.

petitioning my mom since Jan 2014, there's been a lot of rfe going on her papers the past months, because she has 2 names and went thru hell of waiting, but anyway i am still waiting, because they sent an nvc checklist feb 20th via email, and they scanned it 24th, my first 60 days took 52 days, (scanned on Dec 15, it was reviewed Feb 4th and i called after i hit 60 days) come to find out i got a checklist uggghhhh.. i don't think i have the energy to wait another month for this..im thinking calling them on april 9th? that'll hit the 45 days mark or should i call and check it after 30 days? crossing my fingers it'll be cc soon., i've been waiting for over a year for her to come here. Plus my mom need to petition my 3 siblings too., my sister is almost on her 21 so they need to hurry up. :crying:

Hi all, anyone from the Philippines? Any estimates on how long IR5 processing take from application to interview? Thanks!

It took us 8 months. (July to March).

Please consider though that we got a quick approval from USCIS (35) days.

But was delayed 2 months in NVC due to checklist. (plus 60 days).

If it were not for the checklist at NVC, I could have gotten a January interview.

Thanks for the info. What's on the checklist? Is it an additional list of proof/requirements?

Aside from the required list of documents, did the USCIS ask for any additional proof? I read one poster that says mom was asked to supply all original documents including death certificate if widow and police clearances from countries she stayed longer than 6 months. Any idea?
