Just as I was celebrating my NOA1, I began to re-read the 129F instructions and realized I should have copied both sides of my birth certificate. I only sent a clear copy of the front of my original BC (long form).

Is this normally grounds for an RFE?

What is written on the back of your BC?

YMMV

KarAndy,

If the back of your birth certificate is blank, you did send a copy of both sides.

I freaked out about that too since I couldn't see a "back" of mine that was anything besides a blank sheet of paper. (Anyone been to Disneyland? Ridden the "Jungle Cruise" ride? Remember that joke when you cruise into a cove behind a waterfall: and now, the backside of water!)

I saw that before I posted the packet, so I ended up just copying each page of my passport and sticking a post-it note on it saying that my BC had no back, but just in case, here you go. Who the hell knows what is needed.

If you read the boards enough, you'll find that whether RFEs are received seems to depend most on what the reviewer had for breakfast that day since folks get by having forgotten to included letters of intent to marry, etc.

Don't stress. There is nothing you can do at this point but wait and hope for the best. Good luck!

I know some people have photocopied the back of their BC - which was blank. I don't think it is important if there is no pertinent information there.

I copied the back of mine and there was a graph, but it was empty. I sent it along anyway, with a copy of my passport.

A friend of mine sent a photocopy of her BC which specifically said "Do not photocopy", but that is what USCIS asked for.

Most photocopiers have stickers on them that specifically say that photocopying passports is prohibited.

Shrug.

KarAndy,

Be careful about using 'figures of speech' with the USCIS or DoS. They are going to take what you tell them literally.

Yodrak

KarAndy,

You guess? Some things need to be known.

Yodrak

I guess it is blank .....

Yes, it's blank. "I guess" was being used as a figure of speech. Jeez!
