I am a little confused about financial support evidence and the NVC. According to the NVC, my fiancee case was already sent to the US embassy in Manila. However, I understand I still need to submit documentation to the NVC such as I-134 and evidence of financial support. Then, at the interview, my fiancee needs to bring the I-134 and additional financial evidence to the embassy. Will the NVC send the documents I mail them to the US embassy in Manila which in turns send these to my fiancee to bring back to the embassy? Or, will I send these documents to the NVC but also at the same time another set of the same documents to my fiancee in Manila directly for her to bring to the interview at the US embassy? I thought NVC would collect these documents from me then send everything to the US embassy in Manila, but that was not the case since the file has already been sent to Manila despite the NVC not collecting the financial documents from me yet.

You don't submit anything to NVC, that is for immigrant visas only, the K-1 is a non-immigrant visa (treated as an immigrant visa at the embassy).

You send the I-134 and copies of your most recent tax return and W-2 to your fiancee.

Everything is presented to the embassy.

Follow the flashing arrow below for details.

Thanks, thats what I thought. So my lawyer is useless and completely confused as the lawyer instructed me to submit all that to the NVC. Lawyer must not know difference between immigrant and non-immigrant visa procedure I guess.... The only original docs my fiancee needs is I-134 i understand, so I can email her everything else and she can print those, while I mail her the originally signed I-134 in the snailmail.

Correct on ALL counts!!

Yes original I-134, copies of everything else.

Read the embassy instructions letter more than once, use it as a checklist.

Kick your lawyer in the ### for be an idiot.... (but then he is a "trained professional" should expect too much)

Honestly, being a member of this forum has saved me a ton on lawyer's fees.

And given me the confidence to go thru this thing on my (our) own.

If you use Hank's guide there is no need for a lawyer. Follow it step by step and return here if you have questions.

There are so many lawyers out there that think they know but they don't know the process. We hear the stories here all the time.

I wish I had known about that website back in August. But I know the AOS process and other things will come up soon as well and I will use alternative means for information other than lawyers for the remaining processes.
