I have a friend, who asked me a question, as I am married to a Filipino, he knows a person from the Philippines, who is here on a work visa, (teaching school), note (all of this is, just told to me) but I am trying to help. His friend has been here a year on a work visa from the Phils., teaching, AND has married an American citizen! The work visa is supposed to be 3 years.

This is a broad question, and many variables, but I will take all the info. I can get from our well informed members!

My feeble opinion is since the person did not enter the US with intent to marry, and met someone and fell in love, and married, THEY can just file for AOS.,,.,as my wife and I did after arriving on a K-1 visa in 2013.

Please give me the good and bad, of this new couple's road to just "do the right things" to stay within USCIS guidelines, any and all comments will be passed on, as I am just trying to help, someone, who just does not know.,.,including myself.,.,.thanks!!!

Good or bad depends on how he proves the marriage is legit.
