First of all, thanks f it taking the time to read this. If this isn't in the right place, I apologize. We will be filing for the CR1 visa at some point, so I thought this was as good a place as any.

I'm a US citizen living in Japan. My fiancée is Japanese. We will be visiting my hometown, Salt Lake City, Utah during winter vacation. We want to be legally married while we are there. We will be coming back to Japan at the very end of the year. Is this ok?

Couldn't find anything on the Internet with the same variables as this situation, so I thought it would be a good idea to post here.

Thanks again. Any help is much appreciated.

You do not need anything special to get married in the USA. Only if you wanted to stay in the USA after marriage.
