I agree taking a class or two may be a good idea to make sure you are doing the exercises correctly. I also got a DVD off of Amazon that has a lot of variety on it and has kept me interested for over a year now. That is when I am willing to wake up early enough to do it before work. It's called Pilates Complete for Weight Loss and here is the link, http://www.amazon.com/Pilates-Complete-Wei...=UTF8&s=dvd. And strangely enough, I believe the instructor, Karen Garcia, has a studio here in Northern VA.

I also just got a new DVD from Costco that incorporates one of those pilates training circles. Now THAT has made me realize that I have muscles I never knew about!

I know a Pilates trainer personally, and I've gone through the Pilates exercises with her before. If it's all done correctly (and it was in the past), you won't feel sore or achy later/the next day. I initially thought I would be very sore after doing it (since I'd never done it before), but I wasn't at all. I've been more sore after running on the treadmill for a little while. So it shouldn't be that bad for you. :)

I know this is off the topic of this thread, but in the airport I worked at they kept a record of most weight lost on the "ramp diet." I think the winner lost 200 pounds. It was amazing. I gotta get one of those ramp jobs...

I did buy a Pilates DVD with Ana Caban and it is titled *Pilates for Weight Loss* It included the body bands (those big elastic band thingees) and it is good..I also got a little cheap book explaining all the concepts, etc. Looking forward to being more fit and flexible for when my horse comes back from the trainer in April......hopefully it won't be 30 below then and I can actually ride without freezing my a** off..thanks for all your tips, and I am still trying to figure out what a *ramp job* is
