Hi

My husband (Petitioner) and I (Beneficiary) are starting the process of filling the form and I've been reading the forum. I saw on a thread the form requires info of my employer. I have no problem filling out this part but my issue is I have not told work that I plan to move to the states. Since the process takes long I want to stay in my job for as long as possible.

Will immigration call my job?

thanks

USCIS didn't call my employer, from what I know. It might be worth having a look at your employment contract, because it's possible that if your employer terminated you from your position you would have grounds for unfair dismissal. Up until a few months ago I managed an office for local government and I remember instances where employees were looking for other work but we were unable to really do anything about it. That said, I worked in the public sector, so there was a lot of red tape.

In my case, I told my manager as soon as I had made my decision and took voluntary redundancy four months later.

Now chronicling my experience in handy blog format at
