Hi All,

I am prepping to send in my AOS forms and am a little confused about the I-94. The original plan when entering the US was to remain here until Jan.15, which is what I told the officer, but I just looked up my I-94 and it says

Most Recent Date of Entry: 2014 August 26
Class of Admission: B2
Admit Until Date: 2014 August 26
^^ Does that mean I was supposed to leave the same day I entered?
I am Canadian citizen .. not sure if that helps.
Thanks in advance!

(organizer hat off)

OIC, it does appear that CBP got things mixed up. You will have to get it corrected at a CBP Deferred Inspection Station.

It says in the op B2

Thanks for the help. I initially was a bit confused as to the exact nature of the CBP action in question, incorrect visa type (since it was posted in the Fam.-based AOS forum), and/or the dates.

Sorry to post in the wrong spot .. Am I correct in reading that I can go to the airport and have this corrected? Should I bring all my info as "proof" of my original return date, or is this not necessary?

One more thing .. is this going to be like "re-crossing" the border? Or just an adjustment .. that process makes me so nervous, and I had a VERY nice guy passing through this last time ..

Suggest that you follow the previously provided link and directions for CBP Deferred Inspection Sites, contact them for specific instructions/requirements.

Most Canadian tourists on B2 do not receive I-94's and are given a 6 month stay. Are you sure you got one? I'm thinking the entry date is just something they show on their site because there is no mandatory exit date. If you are filing for AOS based on marriage to a USC, any overstay would be forgiven anyway, so the exit date is irrelevant, there's really no reason to worry about it.

Canadians who fly are given an electronic I-94 now. Most of is just don't know about it. I didn't until this site. I was given 6 months on my online I-94.

Possible, not completely clear if the op flew in or drove. But either way if the op is adjusting status through marriage to a USC, the exit date is irrelevant.

Okay so I crossed the border by land .. not sure if that makes a difference but with my AOS application on the checklist it says I need electronic copy of I-94. I am just wondering if that date is going to mess with my application at all, or it's okay to send since Canadians are allowed 6 months in the US.

I never received anything when crossing, it was truly the simplest crossing ever, I am only going by what I found here:

https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/request.html

Thank you

You would put N/A in the box that asks for your I-94. USCIS knows that Canadian citizens do not receive I-94's for tourist purposes. We did exactly that for all of my wife's forms as well.
