step-son entered USA (cr-1), asked to visit County Hospital

During the medical exam my step-son (7 y/o) tested positive on the TB skin test. However he tested negative in the x-rays. The clinic stated he is not sick or contagious; he just likely came into contact with someone with TB at some point in his life. His visa was approved.

Fast foward 10 days, he entered the USA last Wednesday and the border patrol agent stated that I need to take him to a county hospital in the Los Angeles area (where we live) within 30 days. He said it's just a measure to reensure my kid is ok and get any treatment if needed. He gave me a copy of the medical report to take with me but I don't have any additional information or what agency I need to follow up with post-doctor visit. The border patrol agent assured me that the hospital would have the same information and notify the appropriate agency of the visit. But he also told me that if we don't go to a county hospital within 30 days someone would come to my address and take away my son. So I just want to make sure that this doesn't happen and everyone is in sync.

I haven't been able to find any other similar threads. Has anyone gone through this?

It is a normal procedure. Our daughter have the same case and visited the health services in our county (MD). Just go to the health service office location mentioned to you at the port of entry and they will have the information. Better to schedule an appointment. They will ask some questions and draw blood for TB test.
