Shouldn't someone in a competition have high opinions of his/her talents? Regardless of who wins each week, to think you are/can be the best...how is that a bad thing?

Sure. But IMO, thinking highly of yourself and speaking highly of yourself are totally different things. Confidence is great, arrogance is not.

One of the other reasons I don't want Ilan to win is due to how he sold Elia down the river last week. he starts in on the whole Marcel cheated issue, gets Elia talking and digging herself a hole and he stands there saying nothing. What a coward!

Lisa, I think I just taked myself into the dark side

I also found it low of Ilan to say that cherries decrease your libido.

I've watched a few episodes. I am a Food Network addict. I love Barefoot Contessa, Everyday Italian, Iron Chef, Paula Deen.

I feel bad, but the one I can't stand is Rachel Ray. She is really cute, but she irritates me.

LisaD,

I'm not voting until I see what they cook in this final competition, but I am high on Marcel. I think, as several have opined, that the producers have worked hard to highlight the conflicts solely for the sake of stimulating interest. (I wonder if the WWE is really behind the show, or if they're copying the WWE style?) Marcel is obviously an irritating personality, but I expect that he's not as irritating as he has been portrayed. They have been toning him down a bit in the past few weeks, but have kept the tension by ramping up the animosity of the others. I feel a disconnect in that.

They toned down the irritating attitude of Jeffrey leading up to the final in the last Project Runway, also. And he won. A possible clue?

I was expecting Sam to go all the way, perhaps because of his many wins, overlooking that each competion is a knock-out round. It's not your record, it's 'what have you done this time?' that counts. And for this reason I'm not predicting a winner in advance.

I agree, Ilan looks a lot like Tim Allen.

Yodrak

I'm voting for Marcel, hahaha. The only reason why is the clips that they've shown don't show him to be as annoying as he's being portrayed & I don't think it's fair that he's been picked on so much. Plus, Ilan irks me for some reason.

and yodrak...I wanted Jeffrey to win...but J was an outright b@stard at times, but I thought he was 'quirky'...lol, maybe I just like to root for the underdog?

I don't think it's the underdog you root for, Lisa - I think you do it for the sake of being controversial ;)

I'm firmly on Ilan's side - although I think it was petty and snide to make the remark about cherries, he was just doing what he thought he could to get ahead, and isn't that what competition is about? It would be different if he'd salted the cherries or something, but I don't think a little smacktalkin' is going to kill anyone. Marcel just irritates me too much to have any sympathy.

I'm not sure what to make of the new design one - it looks like they've found the most irritating people they can to compete. I love the clip with the woman saying "You can't just design a room around the cat!" though - I'm gonna have to watch it just to see the context of that!

Make sure you're wearing clean knickers. You never know when you'll be run over by a bus.

I'm hoping Marcel will whip up one of his amazing foams! It would be so soigne!!! lol

Though I'm not a fan of either chef, I am going with Ilan, just because. I really wanted Sam to win it! I think the 2 finalists are a fix cos they hate each other so much that Bravo thinks it will make for more interesting TV.

I am so hooked on Top Chef!!! Can't wait for tonight!

oh yeah! Bring on the foam! Maybe Marcel will break out his culinary chemical kit again, is that what he called it? He used some thickening agent last time which did not seem to irk the judges.

I do believe it was xantham gum. Sam totally disdained it! Marcel is an oddball, but man can he foam!!
