My fiance's interview is scheduled for December 8th. We figured we should reschedule because of the impending typhoon. The embassy's website currently says no available appointments. Yesterday many dates were available. Did they close all dates to just see what happens with the typhoon?

August 18, 2014 I-129F packet mailed

August 20, 2014 Packet received at Texas lockbox

August 26, 2014 NOA1 Issued and packet transferred to CSC

October 18, 2014 NOA2 Hardcopy received

November 3, 2014 NVC received approved I-129F from USCIS and I called and got our case #

Possible. Or maybe hundreds of others had the same idea as you and beat you too the punch.

Many like you are scrabbling to reschedule. Seems to me it's to late all but January and that's filling fast. If you think you can get to your appointment keep it. If USEM closes because of weather then they're the ones who will help you to reschedule.

Here's what is odd to me; when I log into the website and click the "Cancel Appointment" button, it says,

Appointment Cancellation You cannot cancel your appointment at this time.

then gives all of our information and has our appointment date of December 8 and then it says,

First available appointment slots at the moment are on Wednesday December 10, 2014

But after clicking the "Reschedule Appointment" button it says no appointments available.

So why can't we at least cancel the appointment?

We can't explain everything that happens at USEM.... but keep your schedule and try and get to the Embassy with your schedule if possible. Seems they are trying to accommodate you.

Hi, we are on the same boat, mine too is on the 8th. I'm already here in Manila, for now the weather is okay and praying on Monday it will be fine too.It is written on the appointment that we need to visit the site of the embassy for the announcement that they may post there as regards to weather and i quote "Prior to coming to the embassy for your interview, you should check the U.S. Embassy websitehttp://manila.usembassy.gov/visas.html to ensure that it is open, particularly in times of inclement weather or heavy traffic conditions in Metro Manila. If the Embassy is closed, instructions on how to proceed with your interview appointment will be posted on the website " .Lets just keep abreast ourselves to the site.Thank you
