(CNN) -- A manhunt is under way for a West Virginia man suspected of killing four people in three locations in Monongalia County, in the northeast part of the state.

West Virginia state police are looking for Jody Lee Hunt, a 39-year-old man, of Westover, West Virginia. At least one of the shootings happened in Westover, in Monongalia County, and another shooting was reported in an unincorporated part of the county.

Police say Hunt is believed to be driving a black 2011 Ford F-150 with the words "Rough Country" written on the back window.

He is described as 5' 9" tall and 165 pounds.

"Mr. Hunt did know each of these victims and we do have some key pieces of evidence that do point to him as being the suspect, including his social media traffic as well," State Police Lt. Michael Baylous told CNN affiliate WTAE. "We have an idea why this may have occurred, but we're not in a position where we're ready to release this as of yet."

They just ought to let people in West Virginia carry guns. Then none of this would happen.

He had already been convicted of multiple felonies, including firearms he was prohibited from having. So the law worked real well at keeping guns out of his hands.

He said not to play games with people's hearts in the facebook note he wrote explaining his motivations.

Pretty good advice.
