Timeline

I had to fill out the form and checked in the box that said something like update information.

There is no such field on the SS-5 form. There is a field that you mark if you previously applied for a card. When filling out the form, the difference between a new SSN request and a change is the fact that you enter your SSN on the SS-5 form to update it. If filing for a new number, there would be no SSN number to enter.

I got my passport but have not received my Certificate of Naturalization back yet. Can I bring my passport instead?

mine came on the same day but different mails... IO said at oath it takes 3 days for the cert. to follow

can you do this online? our SS office here takes at least 3 hrs
