what exactly does my fiance need for the initial k2 application of my 5-year-old son? The name in the I-129f is just enough? Do I need to fill out an G325a for him? Do I need to send documents such as birth certificate or custody agreement? I can't find these specific answers anywhere. If someone could help me, I appreciate. We live in Brazil.

All children are to be listed on the 129f form, regardless of age or immigration intent.

Do I need to fill out an G325a for him?

No

Do I need to send documents such as birth certificate or custody agreement?

No but some Embassies want a notarized letter from the other parent allowing permanent immigration to the US. Check with your regional forum or your Embassy.

Then when you fill out the DS-160 online form, you will list which of the children are to either To Join or To Follow with a K-2. They will need to have their visa fee paid also plus a medical.

Thank you very much for your help!

Just something anyway: this notarized letter that some Embassies want is for this first part of the process or for the documents asked after the approval for the interview by the US government?

I mailed my embassy yesterday, but no answers till now.

So many details to pay attention! Seems I'm getting nuts!

To get a good overview to the K1 and K2 process, review the DOS Nonimmigrant K1 Fiancee Visa FAQs: http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/types/family/fiance-k-1.html

At the visa petition phase of the process the only thing required for the K2 visa is to list the child(ren) as instructed in the I-129f petition. Later on at the visa interview phase of the process more forms, fees, and documentation (including [if necessary] notarized letter from biological parent permitting US immigration) are required of the K2 applicants. At the visa interview phase, embassy/consulates often have specific and sometimes differing instructions/requirements, therefore they should be consulted about K2-specifics.

baron555 has provided some good information.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

Again, thank you both.

I've been reading everything I can, the guides, USCIS, Embassy, blogs...etc....and most for this reason these doubts are coming. I've seen many people, specially in blogs, each one telling something. More specifically about the K2 there are less information, this is obvious considering there are probably more couples intending to marry with no children. Said that, I saw people who sent birth certificate, letter, custody agreement or everything together in this first phase.

I usually follow the instructions. Sometimes, more information becomes less information depending on what you are going to do with it. I was lucky to find this website. As soon as I have good news (or more doubts), I come here to share or ask help.

Cheers!
