Hi everyone,

My husband and I had our interview at the Detroit USCIS Oct 16th. We were told by the officer he would approve us and we would see a letter in 2 weeks. It is now 5 weeks later and no letter. Our status on the USCIS website shows "You have an interview scheduled". We have called USCIS and they stated it can take 60days to receive the approval letter.

Is this typical???? Anyone else have this issue???

Dying to get this over and have my husbands green card so we can finally relax for a little while.

Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated.

2014-10-16 - Interview at Detroit USCIS - Told we were approved and should see letter in 2 weeks

2014-11-14 - Call to USCIS - No approval letter received yet.

2014-12-30 - Notice of Approval - Card Mailed

2016-10-21 - Receipt Received

2016-11-12 - NOA 1 Biometric Appt

2016-12-02 - Biometrics complete

Your interviewer might not have authority to approve you at the spot (he said he would but he couldn't) he would ask for permission from higher ranking officer or your background check is still pending. You need to call back after 60 days mark to find out, patience is your best bet. Good luck.
