Hello,

I have my biometrics appointment for ROC on my 2-year green card (obtained through a K1) next Monday and photo ID is required. I have both a driver's permit and a passport, but the permit expired in August and the passport expired in April. Will they care that my photo ID is expired? I doubt the DMV will mail my new permit by next Monday.

If they require my ID to be current, what should I do?

Thanks in advance.

Passports work as well. You can always go down to the DMV with your lease and get a state ID card that day as well. Hurry.

Sorry about misreading your post. Better call immigration to see what they will say.

I already stated that my passport is expired.

Trying to figure out if the DMV here (Nevada) will provide same-day state IDs...

Edit: S'okay. The DMV MV website says it mails ID cards, but maybe if I go in person I can beg them to do it today? Hmm.

This is the thing: If I apply for a new ID card, they're going to have to punch a hole in my old one or otherwise destroy it. The website says they mail ID cards. I think showing up to my biometrics appointment with a hole punched driver's permit and an expired passport is worse than showing up with both expired documents, untampered.

This is entirely my fault for being lazy and procrastinating on renewing my permit (passport I've put off because it's expensive.)

Why not take your GC and use it as a photo ID??? If it is expired, take along the extension letter as that gives it a validity for another year.

Good luck,

Dave

I mis-read the biometrics letter and mistakenly thought they only wanted green cards from naturalization residents, so I'll just use my green card. Thank you everyone!
