Hello!

I have a complicated story but I will keep it short and hope that someone can give some advice please.

I'am Swedish, meet my current American husband in Australia. I have studied in Oz for 3 years and he has lived on and off for 7. We have been applying for the spouse visa and now my hubby got offered a sponsorship here in Australia. He would like to take the opportunity to be safe in case we would ever struggle in the U.S. So my first question is, can we delay the process by 2 years? Secondly will it look weird when we do apply if I hold both Swedish and Portuguese citizenship plus permanent residency in Australia and could they deny me for that? Also for anyone that already lives in the U.S, is it as scary as it sounds in regards to the health care system, unemployment and poverty?

Thank you

If he has a job opportunity in Oz, then take it. I only moved to the USA from Canada because my husband's job.

You also can delay at the NVC stage by taking your time (up to one year) between submissions.
