Co-sponsor question

My fiancé and I want to get married and then do an AOS but since I am a nursing student I do not make 125% over the proverty level at this time. I'm having trouble finding a co-sponsor :(

My question is: Does your co-sponsor have to live near you or can they be in another state or even another country?

Thanks for your time and patience :)

The co sponsor doesn't have to be your relative or living in the same state. He or she can be anyone but A US citizen making enough money as stated in the poverty guidelines depending on the household size.

**** Moving from CR-1 spousal visa to AOS from work./ tourist etc visa*****

The co-sponsor must be living in the USA, but can live anywhere within the States, it does not have to be near you.
