Complete your DS-160 now and then complete your notification of applicant readiness on the same day you come back from your medical.

After the medical, it tends to be nearer the 3 or 4-week mark for the interview: two weeks to receive the letter then 1-2 weeks to prepare. London do say that you can expect a wait of up to 6 weeks for an interview date after the last item is received out of the DS-160, applicant readiness form and medical results.

After the interview it can then taken 1-2 weeks to get the visa in-hand: though most seem to get it within a week of the interview. Especially if you are picking it up at the depot rather than having it delivered.

I wouldn't book your tickets yet. If you do get your visa this side of Christmas, I suspect that it's going to go right down to the wire.

Good luck!

Also, submit your DS160 NOW and then as soon as you send it send the form of readiness (as long as you have all the other paperwork ready for the interview)

The date you put for your wedding is CRUCIAL. If you want to be back before Christmas put a wedding or travel date 2 weeks PRIOR.

I can't guarantee that they will but I know that if you put a date on there 2 months from now you will NOT be there by Christmas.

I have just booked my medical for November 24th.

I have all documents ready to go.

I just need to fill in the DS-160 and notice of readiness, which I do after the medical if I'm not mistaken?

Highly unlikely you'll get an interview date that's before Christmas.

My fiancee has his medical today the 24th as well and we are doubtful he will even be here by NYE....any hope of Xmas is near impossible sorry to say! We are hoping for an arrival the mid of January given the medical results probably wont reach embassy until the week of Dec 1 and just hoping we even get an interview in December with the holidays. There is a strong chance we wont even get an interview until January.....keeping our fingers crossed for an interview the week of Dec 28th...best of luck to you!
