First of all i would say thank you for taking time to read and reply.

i am in process for K-1 visa.

I have included my timeline. It was little delay for getting NOA2 but eventually i have received letter from embassy.

I have few questions regarding this k-1 process, if anybody can please help me out here.

1) i have received letter from embassy saying that i have to go to link and follow further process http://london.usembassy.gov/iv_15.html

2) i have gathered document and filled DS-160 and also done with my medical as well.

3) i have filled one interview request form where i had to put my case number, my medical date and my address history.

4) I did not understand about package 3 received and package 3 sent, Do i have you send anything before my interview?

if you can please help me towards this k-1 process me and my finacee would be really thankful to you

best of luck to everyone who is going through process.

The "packet" talk is really old terminology. For your timeline, consider the day you got the letter of instruction from London "packet 3 received". The day you submitted the DS-160 can be "packet 3 sent". The day you get your interview letter is "packet 4".

As far as your case, you have done everything and are waiting to have an interview assigned. They say it can take six weeks (after you did the last thing...medical or interview readiness form). Many hear something in two weeks. When was your medical?

When did you submit the Readiness for Interview form?

Since your wedding isn't until January, they will tend to give out appointments to those who plan to marry in November and December before you. That can explain why it's been four weeks already since your last thing was submitted (medical Oct 11) but no interview letter yet.

Another thing is you submitted your Readiness for Interview on Sept 11, the day after your petition was approved. That was too early...more than a month before London even had your case or knew about you. There are two government agencies you are dealing with--

USCIS- petition

Dept of State- visa application, NVC, embassy

Your case had not even left the USCIS when you told London you were ready to interview. You had not even been assigned a Department of State case number. You had not applied for the visa (DS-160). You didn't exist to London if that makes sense.

I suggest you submit a new Readiness for interview form. http://london.usembassy.gov/iv/notification_of_applicant_readiness_form.html

Be sure and put the Department of State case number that starts with LND, not the one given you by USCIS. That case number is over. Put a December wedding date if you want to get served faster. They don't hold you to any wedding date. It is just to help them schedule interviews.

As Nick stated, the wedding date weighs on the interview date.

All of out forms were turned in Oct 8th.

We expected our interview to be the end of Oct or early November. However, our wedding is Dec 13th and will likely not have our interview until end of November.

We will be waiting the full 6 weeks.

Wow good to know....here I was expecting more forms to be filled out in "packet three".....we submitted DS160 and readiness form already so I will change that in our timeline! The medical is Nov 24 and put 12/31 for wedding.....fingers crossed for an interview by Dec 15!!!
