The real problem with Americans and their disrespect for Obama—according to a Canadian

As requested:

Four days before Obamas inauguration, before he officially took charge of the American government, Rush Limbaugh boasted publicly that he hoped the president would fail. Of course, when the president fails, the country flounders. Wishing harm upon your country in order to further your own narrow political views is selfish, sinister and a tad treasonous as well.

What does Rush Limbaugh's words have to do with racism. You posted it twice as if we didnt see it the first time. Maybe if you post it a third time and maybe change the font and color it will be come more apparent that it is racist?

Him being a jerk and the President of the U.S. are 2 separate things. In some countries disrespecting the President is punishable by death.

What you think are two different things are not in my view. This is America. People don't get punished here for disrespecting someone, including the shiite-heel in the Oval Office. Freedom is awesome! We started it because yes, some countries actually try to force their people to do what they want them to do. 0bola's tried intimidating the press, he's tried intimidating people who disagree by using the IRS, he frequently ridicules dissenters. So, we dissenters earned a free pass to say just about anything we want to say that shows just how much we hate his guts and would walk a wide swath around them should they appear in our path.

IMHO the country turned racist at the inception of slavery. Racism is decreasing with every passing generation but it's still very much out there, made all the more evident by the disrespect shown by many to the current POTUS.

what of the disrespect shown to previous presidents?

Yes, and the same loudmouths that have disrespected him ever since he took office have also done so before he was elected. Now they're saying they don't like the job he's doing as President but how do they rationalize the same disrespect that was going on before he was elected and inaugurated? Obviously, the excuse of him not being a good President wasn't available then. So mainly his otherness had to be good enough. The "questions" about his place of birth, the questions about his being an American and his religion served as the basis for their disrespect. Now they want to point to how he does his job but I certainly ain't buying that canard.

I wonder if maybe the people he associated with and his voting record in the senate could have possibly raised questions as to the agenda he would have as president?

As with any other president before him...

I wonder if maybe the people he associated with and his voting record in the senate could have possibly raised questions as to the agenda he would have as president?
